Crispy Air Fryer Pumpkin Fries recipe
It is very easy to make pumpkin fries. Sweet and spicy taste, soft on the inside with an appetizing crust. You can play with seasoning as you like.
The Pumpkin fries dish is suitable as a side dish for a crispy air fryer chicken or to munch on as a snack by itself, dipping in a delicious homemade Chipotle sauce.
Ingredients:
1/2 Medium Sugar Pumpkin or Pie Pumpkin. Regular pumpkin will do as well.
2 tablespoons Avocado oil
1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder/onion powder
1/2 teaspoon seasoning of choice. I used Trader Joe’s BBQ Rub and seasoning with coffee and garlic.
1/2 teaspoon Salt-free veggie blend.
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Directions:
How to cut the raw pumpkin into French fry slices
- Using a sharp knife, cut the pumpkin in half. Scoop out the seeds and pulp. Cut pumpkin into French fry slices (as you see in the picture above)
- In a separate bowl mix oil with seasoning
- Rub the seasoning blend onto pumpkin fires. I suggest using a container or zip-lock bag to shake the raw pumpkin slices with oil and seasoning blend.
- Next, place the slices in the fryer basket
- Use your fingers to spread them out on the cooking sheet so they don’t overlap.
- Air fry in a preheated air fryer oven at 390 F for 12 minutes or until beautifully golden browned with a caramelized look.
- Flip halfway (6 minutes per side)
- Bon Appétit!

Air Fryer Pumpkin Recipe Notes:
Cut the pumpkin slices thin. The thicker the piece, the longer it will take for the middle to cook.
If you do not have all the suggested spices on hand, do not worry. Pumpkin fries are amazing on their own with just a bit of salt. You can add the spices and seasoning whatever you have in your spice cabinet.
