Chicken Lollipop – Restaurant Style Chicken Lollipop

Tandoori Chicken lollipops are the lip smacking Indian Chicken Starter / Appetizer and mostly loved by kids as well as adults. 

The spicy and full of flavored pieces of Chicken on bone are coated in yogurt batter and deep fried or baked in oven. Tandoori Chicken Lollipops Recipe is a succulent treat that lives up to the name and no one can have just one.

Tandoori Chicken Lollipops Recipe is a very good luscious appetizer and can be made at home, you just need to get good chicken leg pieces.

 It is a very popular Chicken item in Indian Tandoori cuisine, served with Coriander chutney and lemon wedges.  Its marination is based on Tandoori Chicken.

In India, you can see several street vendors, serving lot of Chicken Varieties, such as Chicken Tikka, Chicken Seekh Kebab, Chicken Leg Curry and lots more. One of the the most famous selling dish is Tandoori Chicken Lollipops. These people have a unique art of making marination with yogurt and spices and we just can not beat with their taste. 

Secondly, they have tandoor (clay oven), which gives an ultimate taste and flavor to the dish, hence we can not expect the exact taste just like that.

If you do have clay oven, then you might get the taste just like those street vendors, but again here, there may be some difference in marination. Anyways, if you have interest in cooking, just like me and want to try different food at home, then keep cooking with different types of marination.


Ingredients of Chicken Lollipop

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Marinating Time : 30 mins
Cooking Time : 15 to 20 mins
Serves : 2 to 3

Ingredients:
Chicken Lollipop – 12 pieces
Oil for Deep Frying

For Marination:
Red Chilli Paste – 1 tblspn ( I ground 3 dry red chillies with water)
Ginger Paste – 1 tblspn 
Garlic Paste – 1 tblspn 
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Soya Sauce – 1 tblspn
White Vinegar – 1 tblspn
Tomato ketchup – 3 tblspn
Cornflour / Cornstarch – 3 tblspn
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 3 tblspn
Ajinomoto a pinch (optional)

Method:
Mix chicken lollipop with all the marinating ingredients except cornflour and maida.. Keep aside for 30 mins.
Now add in cornflour and maida. Mix well.
Heat oil for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, Drop chicken in hot oil, simmer the flame and cook on low heat for 10 mins till the chicken is cooked, Now increase the heat and fry the chicken on high heat for 5 mins or till the chicken get crispy and cooked.
Drain and serve.
